Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Serve Safe Certified preferred.
• Previous food service experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Computer skills.
• Proficient reading and writing comprehension.
• Must communicate and relate well with the elderly.
• Background checks and pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driving record with limited violations per policy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Cathedral Café senior congregate meal site.
• Ensure the Café maintains agency and audit standards daily.
• Report equipment and dining area repair needs promptly.
• Report client, staffing, facility, or volunteer concerns to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
• Ensure clients receive a high level of customer service from staff and volunteers.
• Assist with meeting outlined department goals.
• Assign daily work duties for employees & volunteers to ensure quality dining.
• Assist with training and recruitment of Café volunteers.
• Perform the duties of a Driver Ambassador on days the Café is closed.

Job description

Helping to maintain people’s independence is the cornerstone philosophy of Meals on Wheels. Aging True provides hot, nutritious meals to homebound elderly and disabled persons in Duval and Clay counties. In fact, the agency has been feeding people since 1962. This position will direct the efficient daily operation of the Cathedral Café, a congregate meal site located within The Cathedral Terrace. Cathedral Terrace is HUDD funding housing for seniors and disabled adults. This position will work closely with the Community Meal Site Coordinator and the Director of Operations on a full-time basis and will perform the duties outlined below.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Serve Safe Certified preferred
• Previous food service experience preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Computer Skills
• Proficient reading and writing comprehension skills
• Must communicate and relate well with the elderly
• Must have a current Motor Vehicle Record with no more than two (2) moving violations and no more than one (1) at fault accidents within the past three (3) years. No DUI’s or DWI’s reported within the last five (5) years
• Successful completion of Level II background checks and pre-employment drug screening

Experience:

• A qualified candidate must have experience in customer service
• Demonstration of food safety and the ability to train and implement requirements
• Experience emailing and performing general computer skills
• Experience coordinating and directing activities with a senior population

Essential Functions:

• Oversee the daily operations of the Cathedral Café senior congregate meal site
• Oversee that the Café maintains agency and faner audit standards daily
• Responsible for reporting all equipment and dining area repair needs in a timely manner
• Responsible for reporting all client, staffing, facility, or volunteer concerns or issues to the Community Meal Site Coordinator or the Director of Operations in a timely manner
• Ensure clients receive a high level of customer service from both staff and volunteers.
• Assist with meeting outlined department goals
• Assign daily work duties for employees & volunteers to ensure accuracy and a quality dining experience for the clients
• Assist with the training and recruitment of Café volunteers
• Perform the duties of a Driver Ambassador on the day(s) the Café meal site is closed

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am-2:30pm
• Lifting capability of 25 to 50 pounds
