Job summary

MBC Talent Connections is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager for Café Operations in Atlanta, GA. This hands-on leader will partner with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, guest satisfaction, and staffing, while driving financial results.

The ideal candidate has prior restaurant or café management experience, can coach a high-performing team, manage scheduling and HR tasks, monitor labor costs and P&L, and ensure compliance and quality across operations.

Qualifications

• Prior management experience in a restaurant, café, or hospitality environment.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
• Experience with scheduling, payroll, HR administration, and financial reporting.
• Solid understanding of labor management and cost controls.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with Restaurant365 or similar systems is a plus.
• Passion for hospitality and community-focused work.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager on daily operations, staffing, and guest satisfaction.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
• Manage scheduling, payroll, timekeeping, and HR administration.
• Monitor labor costs, inventory, financial reporting, and P&L performance.
• Oversee vendor relationships, purchasing, facility maintenance, and equipment servicing.
• Coordinate guest communications, special events, and catering.
• Maintain compliance records and operational systems.
• Assume full operational leadership in the General Manager's absence.
• Identify and implement improvements to efficiency and operations.
