Job summary

Top Pot Doughnuts in Seattle is seeking a working manager to lead by example on the café floor while supporting day-to-day operations. You will balance guest service, team development, and operational execution to keep the café running smoothly and efficiently.

The role requires coaching, strong communication, and hands-on leadership in a fast-paced café. You’ll help with staffing, inventory, and ensuring quality and safety across shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience in food/retail
• A hands-on leader who works alongside the team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to stay calm, solve problems and decide quickly
• Food Handler’s Permit (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Lead with a guest-first mindset on the café floor
• Coach and develop team; ensure great guest experiences
• Run daily café operations, shift execution, cash handling
• Support hiring, training and performance processes
• Manage product levels, ordering, quality and waste
• Monitor labor, sales and overall café performance
• Maintain cleanliness, safety and company standards
• Work a flexible schedule including opens/closes
• Lift up to 25 pounds and stay active during shifts

About the Role

This is a working manager position, leading by example on the floor while supporting the day-to-day operations of the café. You’ll balance guest service, team development, and operational execution to keep the café running smoothly and efficiently .

What we are looking for someone who can:

• Lead with a \"guest first\" mindset, stepping in to support the team and ensure a great experience every time
• Demonstrate strong customer service while coaching and developing others
• Create a positive, team-focused environment and build strong working relationships
• Run daily café operations, including shift execution, cash handling, and maintaining company standards
• Support hiring, training, and performance management in partnership with the District Manager
• Manage product levels, ordering, and quality to ensure consistency and minimize waste
• Monitor key areas of the business such as labor, sales, and overall café performance
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in accordance with company and health standards
• Work a flexible schedule, including opening, closing, weekends, and holidays
• Occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds and be active for the duration of shifts

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

• 2+ years of leadership experience (food/retail preferred)
• A hands-on leader who enjoys working alongside their team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to stay calm, problem-solve, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn POS systems
• Food Handler’s Permit (or ability to obtain)
