Bon Appetit Management Company is seeking a results-driven Café Manager in San Francisco. You will lead a high-performing café team, oversee financial stewardship, labor management, and the guest experience, delivering a world-class service aligned with client goals.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will collaborate across departments to ensure safety, profitability, and exceptional hospitality while fostering a diverse and inclusive work culture.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of management experience in a high-volume café, restaurant, hotel, or stadium environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to stakeholders.
• Proficient in Google Suite tools (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
• ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.
• Experience in a Union Environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safety Standards: enforce a culture of food and workplace safety and allergen management.
• End-to-End Experience: design, manage, and own the overall café experience.
• Hospitality Excellence: maintain high hospitality standards that are warm and inclusive.
• Cultivate Talent: develop and engage the café team.
• Fiscal Performance: manage budgets, inventory, and labor.
• Culinary Synergy: align back-of-house and front-of-house operations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a results‑driven Café Manager to join our Bon Appetit team. The Café Manager is a pivotal leader responsible for the holistic café experience, bridging the gap between innovative hospitality and operational excellence.

Reporting to the Multi‑Unit General Manager, you will leverage your hospitality and operational expertise to partner with key stakeholders across the account. Your mission is to deliver a world‑class food service experience that delights our guests and aligns with our partner’s strategic goals. You will oversee all facets of the café, from financial stewardship and labor management to fostering a high‑performance team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Standards: Strategically enhance and enforce a culture of food and workplace safety, including rigorous allergen management and compliance with all health regulations.
• End-to‑End Experience: Design, manage, and take full ownership of the overall café experience, ensuring every touchpoint - from atmosphere to service - reflects excellence.
• Hospitality Excellence: Establish and maintain a high standard of hospitality that is warm, inclusive, and proactively engages our guests.
• Cultivate Talent: Lead the professional development of your team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and high associate engagement.
• Fiscal Performance: Take full accountability for financial and budgetary responsibilities, including meticulous inventory control and labor management..
• Culinary Synergy: Collaborate closely with the culinary leadership team to ensure a seamless integration between back‑of‑house innovation and front‑of‑house service.
• Champion Inclusion: Actively integrate diverse perspectives and experiences into the café’s culture, building a team that reflects our global community.
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain robust relationships with client partners and regional leadership to ensure the café consistently exceeds program expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Associates degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Inspirational Leadership: Value‑driven leadership characterized by a deep sense of purpose, responsibility, and the ability to inspire a large, diverse team.
• Management Experience: A minimum of 2–4 years of management experience in a high‑volume café, restaurant, hotel, or stadium environment.
• Operational Alignment: A deep‑seeded passion for the intersection of exceptional food and world‑class service.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to stakeholders and provide clear executive direction.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in computer and technical skills, including a working knowledge of Google Suite tools (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
• Certifications: ServSafe Manager Certification is preferred.
• Union Environment: Experience managing and navigating in a Union Environment is a plus.
