Bon Appétit Management Company in San Francisco, CA is seeking an Assistant Cafe Manager to lead daily cafe operations alongside the Cafe Manager, delivering world-class service and aligning with our safety and quality standards.

You will develop and coach front-of-house staff, manage allergen safety, uphold health regulations, and monitor finances to ensure operational excellence while partnering with clients to meet cafe objectives.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Safety Leadership: Demonstrated ability to drive and enhance a culture focused on Food and Workplace Safety.
• Supervisory Experience: 1 year of supervisory experience in a high-volume, premium food service or hospitality environment.
• Relevant Experience: Prior experience in a restaurant, café, hotel, or high-end events environment is a significant plus.
• Inclusion: Ability to integrate diverse perspectives and experiences to build a cohesive team culture.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication with guest-facing hospitality.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient with computer and Google Suite tools.
• Certifications: ServSafe Certification is preferred.
• Union Environment: Experience managing in a Union Environment is a plus.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Cafe Manager to join our Bon Appétit team. The Assistant Cafe Manager plays a crucial role in the overall success and operational excellence of the café, acting as a pivotal leader in delivering world-class service. In this role, you will ensure adherence to our partner’s culture and guidelines, local Health Department regulations, and Bon Appétit’s unwavering standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation. Working closely alongside the Cafe Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the café, with a particular focus on the development, and performance management of our valued team members. You will be instrumental in motivating and directing every associate to achieve operational objectives, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and fostering a strong, collaborative relationship with our clients. Key Responsibilities

• Workplace & Food Safety: Rigorously manage safety standards, including meticulous allergen management, to ensure guest well‑being and total operational compliance.
