Job summary

Urban Air Palmdale is seeking a Café Lead to oversee shift operations in the on-site café, with a hands-on role in cooking, preparing, and serving food while guiding team members to deliver high standards of speed and guest service.

This position requires leadership experience, a ServSafe-certified background or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days, and a focus on cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 6–12 months of prior food and beverage experience (QSR or restaurant).
• 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
• Must have ServSafe or similar food handling certification, or be willing to get one within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Support the proper execution of all processes, systems, and standards
• Ensure all deliveries are received correctly and logged in the event the Café Manager is not present at the time of delivery
• Maintain storage, and rotation to minimize wastage
• Manage the Café Team, ensuring they always work to the expected standards
• Adhere to scheduled shifts and have the willingness to stay beyond when business or circumstances dictate
• Train Café Team in preparing the full menu and the front of house staff in preparing drinks and ready‑to‑eat foods to the consistently high standard required
• Set a high standard and good example for the Café Team regarding punctuality, attendance, and attitude; ensure these standards are maintained at all times
• Set a high standard and good example for the Café Team regarding cleanliness and hygiene, including a regular deep clean schedule
• Maintain well‑organized and easy‑to‑access Café and storage areas
• Handle guest concerns regarding the Café in absence of the Café Manager
• Participate in regular staff meetings and training as and when required
