Job summary

Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh is seeking a Guest Service Supervisor – Café Lead under the direction of the Senior Manager of Guest Service to uphold an excellent guest experience in Café Phipps and support general guest needs and guest service functions.

The role opens and closes Café Phipps, manages daily operations including cleanliness, equipment maintenance, safety, inventory, and cash handling, and leads staff while coordinating scheduling and cross-training for admissions and gift shop

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to create platinum-level guest experience.
• Open and close Café Phipps; organize day-to-day operations and ensure cleanliness, equipment maintenance and safety.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels and place orders as needed.
• Manage cash drawers, verify transactions, investigate discrepancies, and complete paperwork.
• Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed; monitor temperature logs.
• Responsible for daily maintenance and cleaning of espresso machine.
• Regularly clean café tables between guest use.
• Train and supervise employees.
• Assist with scheduling for Café coverage.
• Respond to guest inquiries and needs with de-escalation and proactive solutions.
• Cross-train on admissions and gift shop procedures and operations, including opening and closing.
• Perform data entry, including end-of-day reporting, sales reports, inventory reports.
• Perform other activities and duties as required.
