Job summary

Berman Hebrew Academy in Rockville, MD seeks a Café & Commissary Manager to oversee the Brett & Alana Fine Café and its commissary kitchen. You’ll lead staff, plan production, and ensure quality, service, and kosher compliance for daily operation.

This full-time, 10-month role requires hands-on leadership, menu development, inventory control, and collaboration with school administrators to support events and catering opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a cafe or school dining program.
• Knowledge of health department regulations and kosher requirements.
• Proven ability to develop production schedules and menus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the café and commissary.
• Plan, organize, and supervise cafe and kitchen staff.
• Develop production schedules for commissary foods.
• Maintain inventory, purchasing, and cost controls.
• Hands-on supervision at the cafe counter and service areas.
• Ensure high food quality, presentation, and sanitation.
