Job summary

Del Mar College Campus Dining seeks a Coffee Bar and Cafe Assistant (Levels I–III) to deliver excellent customer service and craft beverages to a diverse campus community.

The role requires the ability to work flexible hours, maintain product quality, and follow safety and sanitation guidelines while handling cash and assisting in daily cafe operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience with a focus on hospitality preferred.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and special events.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and greets customers; suggests products to meet sales goals.
• Prepares beverages and food to standard recipes and customer requests.
• Operates and maintains coffee equipment; follows cash handling procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree ( GED ).

Level I (NFOODEN45504) - Grade 915

• Less than one (1) year of experience.

Level II (NFOODEN45510) - Grade 916

• One to three (1-3) years of experience.

Level III (NFOODEN45512) – Grade 917

• Three plus (3+) years of experience.

• Ability to operate, clean, and maintain coffee equipment, such as espresso machine, milk steamer, coffee grinder, etc…

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) or more years of related experience and/or training.
• Specialty Coffee Association ( SCA ) Certification.
