Del Mar College is seeking adjunct and substitute instructors to teach Culinary Arts and related courses across multiple times and locations. Positions may include online and dual‑credit offerings to respond to institutional needs and student demand.
Instructors must hold an associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field, have at least three years of culinary work experience, and hold ServSafe Manager or Texas Certified Food Manager certification for lab instruction.
This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill Student Assistant assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from an accredited institution or in a related field.
Three (3) years work experience in Culinary Arts or in a related field.
Current ServSafe Manager or Texas Certified Food Manager certification for lab instructors required to instruct Culinary and/or Baking/Pastry courses.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Successful college teaching experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
