Riddle Village, a lifecare retirement community, is seeking Cafe Attendants to join our dining department team on a part-time basis. This position works during the day (excluding Sunday late afternoon shifts) and includes every other weekend. About The Cafe Attendant Position

If you are friendly, sociable, love the elderly, smile, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this may be your job! Under the supervision of the Executive Chef, the Cafe Attendant is responsible for working the food line, preparing smoothies, bussing tables, and providing excellent service according to established standards.

The Cafe Attendant will:

• Maintain high sanitation and housekeeping standards, completing cleaning tasks as outlined.
• Follow employee meal program policies and procedures.
• Report food needs to the chef and work closely with supervisors on issues.
• Ensure assigned area is clean and efficient during shifts.
• Prepare smoothies consistently, utilize portion control, and ensure food presentation is exemplary.
• Rotate and label leftovers appropriately.
• Follow safety practices set by health authorities and Riddle Village.
• Attend all in-service training sessions.
• Work in other areas of the department as needed.

Job Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to follow and communicate in English (oral and written).
• Interest in working with the elderly.
• Friendly demeanor with a positive attitude.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
• Availability to work every other weekend, with shifts starting as early as 8:30 AM and ending as late as 3:30 PM, or from 2 PM-7:30 PM on Sundays.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk short distances, and handle temperature changes in coolers and freezers.
