Job summary

American Family Fitness is seeking a Cafe Attendant to provide friendly, efficient service at the on-site cafe. You will greet members, upsell items, and prepare food per the menu while maintaining a clean work area.

You will operate the register, reconcile end-of-shift reports, stock supplies, and ensure health and safety standards are followed. Regular meetings and coordination with the Cafe Manager are part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Greet members, guests and staff in a friendly manner.
• Suggest additional items to customers and upsell when possible.
• Prepare food according to the menu.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Operate the cash register and reconcile shift reports.
• Stock refrigerators and coolers during shifts.
• Keep utensils and prep areas clean and sanitized.
• Follow Health Department rules: wash, rinse, sanitize.
• Attend mandatory monthly staff meetings.
• Obtain manager sign-off on invoices for deliveries.
• Suggest new menu ideas.

Cafe Attendant

Objectives: To provide members & staff a professional, quick, and friendly customer service.

Reports to: Cafe Manager and/or Front Desk Supervisor

Game Plan

• Greet members, guests, and staff in a friendly and inviting manner.
• Always suggest additional items to customers.
• Prepare food products according to the menu.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Operate computer register and reconcile shift reports at the end of each shift.
• Stock all refrigerators and coolers during each shift.
• Keep all utensils, food prep areas, and cooking equipment clean and sanitized.
• Follow the Health Department rule when washing utensils and dishes: WASH, RINSE, and SANITIZE.
• Attend mandatory monthly staff meetings.
• Always get a manager to sign off on the invoice when a delivery is received at the cafe.
• Suggest new food menu ideas.
• Maintain daily employee tabs.
