Job summary

Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace is seeking a Cafe Associate for our Troy location. You will prepare and serve beverages, light foods, and help maintain cafe presentation and stock.

Responsibilities include cash handling, greeting customers, and ensuring fast, friendly service. Weekend availability, reliability, and a neat appearance are required, with a team-focused approach to training and support.

Qualifications

• Previous cash handling and customer service experience is required.
• Weekend availability is required.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours.
• Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies and other beverages to customers.
• Serve food items including hot soup, sandwiches, baked goods and pizza as needed.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous, and excellent service.
• Complete customer purchases using the cash register.
• Maintain display and stock of cafe supplies such as beverages and condiments.
• Keep a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times.
• Handle damaged or spoiled products according to guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar in line with safety policies.
• Notify management immediately of any safety or equipment issues.
• Assist in training associates when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Nino Salvaggio is currently looking for a Cafe Associate for our Troy location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies and other beverage items to customers.
• Serve food items to customers including hot soup, sandwiches, baked goods and pizza and prepare, as necessary.
• Greet all customers and provide them prompt, courteous and excellent service or assistance.
• Complete customer purchases using the cash register.
• Maintain display and stock of all cafe supplies including beverages, condiments, utensils, baked goods, etc.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times.
• Handle any damaged or spoiled product according to department guidelines and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
• Maintain cleanliness of coffee bar in compliance with safety and sanitation policies and procedures at all times.
• Notify management immediately of any safety or equipment issues or violations.
• Assist in training associates when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have some weekend availability.
• Previous cash handling/customer service experience, required.
• Previous coffee bar/cafe experience, preferred.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more-hour periods.
• The ability to operate equipment safely and correctly.
• Ability to multitask, maintain a positive attitude, problem solve.
