Job summary

Employee Workplace in Allen Park, MI is hiring a CAE Engineer focused on occupant safety to advance crash simulations and vehicle safety systems. This role requires experience with LS-DYNA and finite element analysis to develop and validate occupant models across multiple crash scenarios.

The successful candidate will optimize airbags and restraints, collaborate with design and safety teams, and support design reviews through production launch in a hybrid work setting (4 days onsite).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of occupant safety CAE experience.
• Experience supporting safety systems from concept through production launch.
• Hands-on LS-DYNA and nonlinear finite element analysis experience.
• Knowledge of global passive safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate occupant CAE models for frontal, side, rear, pedestrian, roof-strength, and low-speed impact conditions.
• Evaluate system-level occupant safety performance across crash configurations.
• Optimize airbags, seat belts, steering columns, seats, instrument panels, and interior components.
• Collaborate with structural engineering, design, suppliers, and safety teams.
• Conduct DOE/DFSS optimization studies balancing performance, cost, and mass.
• Support design reviews, technical recommendations, model standards, and simulation quality.
• Deliver high-quality CAE models through Start of Production.
