Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a CAE Engineer to support CAD engineering and design tools within the GOS organization. Located in Cranberry Township, PA, this hybrid role requires on-site work two days per week, with relocation assistance not provided.

The position involves developing and maintaining CAD data, solving software issues, and collaborating with partners to integrate CAD tools with other systems, driving process improvements in line with project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist CAD Administration Lead with daily tasks and project work.
• Plan, schedule, and complete assignments within project scope and budget.
• Develop and revise 3D models and related data across CSA, Electrical, Piping disciplines.
• Maintain drawings derived from 3D models and other sources.
• Manage CAD data living in data management tools.
• Communicate with software vendors to approve license usage.
• Integrate CAD tools with other enterprise software for data collection and reporting.
• Improve work processes and standard procedures for better performance.

About the role:

As a CAE Engineer you will contribute to the selection, development, and maintenance of CAD engineering and design tools used within the GOS organization. You will work with team members to troubleshoot software issues and develop solutions, and support the population and maintenance of plant data associated with various engineering applications.

You will report to the Manager, Computer Aided Engineering, Design Automation/Configuration and be located at Cranberry Township, PA. The position is hybrid; you will be on site 2 days per week. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support CAD Administration Lead in daily tasks.
• Plan, schedule, and complete assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements.
• Oversee the creation and development of 3D models and related engineering data that capture design information for any of the associated engineering disciplines (CSA, Electrical, Piping) using multiple software applications while observing established project and quality requirements.
• Oversee creation and revision control of drawings derived from 3D models or otherwise created.
• Oversee data management tools used to store and maintain CAD data.
• Perform associated software administration tasks and communicate with software vendors to approve license usage.
• Work with partners to develop and establish interface connections between CAD management tools and other enterprise software solutions for data collection and reporting, such as internally developed applications or other commercially available applications.
• Improve work processes and lead improvements with standard procedures to ensure the best performance.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $58,400 to $73,000 per year.
