Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a CAE Engineer to advance CAD engineering and tooling. You’ll troubleshoot software issues, develop solutions, and support plant data across multiple engineering applications.

The role is hybrid, based in Cranberry, PA or Rock Hill, SC with no relocation. You will contribute to 3D model creation, data management, and interface maintenance between CAD tools and enterprise systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
• Knowledge of CAD applications, Autodesk, AVEVA, and Hexagon-based products is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot software issues and understand software development concepts.
• Understanding of several CAD software applications and data management practices.

• Plan, schedule and complete assignments within project schedule and budget.
• Oversee creation and development of 3D models and related engineering data across CSA, Electrical, or Piping domains.
• Oversee creation and revision control of drawings derived from 3D models.
• Oversee data management tools used to store and maintain CAD data.
• Perform software administration tasks and liaise with software vendors on licenses.
• Coordinate interfaces between CAD tools and other enterprise software for data collection and reporting.

About the role:

As a CAE Engineer you will contribute to the development of CAD engineering and design tools. You will work with team members to troubleshoot software issues and develop solutions. You will support the population and maintenance of plant data associated with multiple engineering applications.

You will report to the Manager - Computer Aided Design and work a hybrid role based in Cranberry, PA or Rock Hill, SC. No relocation is available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support CAD Administration Lead in daily tasks.
• Plan, schedule and complete assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements.
• Oversee the creation and development of 3D models and related engineering data. These capture design information for any of the associated engineering disciplines, such as CSA, Electrical, or Piping. This work uses several software applications, observing established project and quality requirements.
• Oversee creation and revision control of drawings derived from 3D models or otherwise created.
• Oversee data management tools used to store and maintain CAD data.
• Perform associated software administration tasks, communication with software vendor and approval of license usage.
• Work with important partners to maintain interface connections between CAD management tools and other enterprise software solutions for data collection and reporting, such as internally developed applications or other commercially available applications.

• Knowledge of CAD applications, Autodesk, AVEVA, and Hexagon-based products

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $69,200 to $86,500 per year.
