Job summary

WestCare seeks a dedicated counselor at Logan Correctional Facility to deliver substance abuse programs for clients. You will perform assessments, develop service plans, and lead daily curriculum-based groups focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and personal development.

The role involves documenting progress, maintaining confidentiality, and coordinating with a treatment team to support rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Must hold or obtain CADC/clinical certification per Illinois requirements within two years of employment.
• Master's or bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Bilingual abilities preferred.
• Ability to pass background checks, including OIG LEIE clearance and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Complete client assessments using approved tools.
• Develop individual service plans with client input and set short/long term goals.
• Provide daily treatment groups and education on addiction concepts and relapse prevention.
• Support client engagement through motivational techniques and therapeutic relationships.
• Maintain confidential client records per policy and legal requirements.
• Submit weekly client data for WestCare databases.
