Job summary
Solano County is seeking a Cadastral Mapping Technician II to review and update district and property maps, mapping records, boundaries, title, and taxability using GIS and CAD drafting.
The ideal candidate has two or more years editing in ArcGIS Pro against an enterprise geodatabase, reads parcel maps and legal descriptions, and can verify that GIS geometry matches records. Experience with parcels/addresses in county offices is preferred; CAD exposure is helpful.
Qualifications
- Two years of CAD or GIS experience with civil drafting or cartography related to interpreting legal property descriptions and drawing scale maps.
- Ability to read and interpret legal property descriptions and maps.
- Familiarity with parcels, addresses, and geocoding concepts.
Responsibilities
- Review and update district and property maps, mapping records, boundaries, title, and taxability using GIS and CAD drafting.
- Read parcel maps and legal descriptions to confirm GIS geometry matches the record.
- Edit attributes, topology, and geometry in GIS and maintain enterprise geodatabase; use FME, Python, ModelBuilder, or SQL to compare versions.
- Coordinate with vendors for parcel/address data delivery, verify fixes, and write a monthly summary for management.
