Job summary

Bray International, Inc. in Houston seeks a CAD Designer to create detailed models and drawings of mechanical valves and components. You will use CAD tools to produce accurate 3D models and 2D drawings guiding the manufacturing process.

You will collaborate with the Design Engineering team and other technical groups to ensure design intent is correctly implemented. The role emphasizes attention to drafting standards, documentation, and integration with Bray ERP systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in Mechanical Drafting and Design is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks or similar CAD programs including part design and assemblies.
• SolidWorks CAD Design Professional and Drawing Tools Professional certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of butterfly valves and components with precise dimensions.
• Maintain records of drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials in Bray ERP with revisions and change orders.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand design intent and resolve issues.
• Translate engineering specs and sketches into comprehensive drawings and instructions.
• Ensure drawings meet engineering standards and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
• Produce detailed valve component views, sections, exploded views, and assembly drawings.
• Apply proper dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5 to ensure fit and function.
• Support validation testing, certification, and third-party audits.
