Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers' Nashville office is seeking a CAD Technician II to provide drafting and design support for land development projects, across disciplines, under limited supervision.

You will prepare construction documents in AutoCAD Civil 3D, collaborate with engineers and project managers, ensure QA/QC, and maintain organized project files. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in CAD/Drafting or related field required, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years drafting civil, transportation, or related construction documents.
• Proficient in CAD software with industry-standard workflow best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Good written and verbal communication; able to work in a team
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to operate a company vehicle and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise construction plans, profiles, and project exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Analyze sketches and input materials to determine drafting approach with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to meet objectives and deadlines.
• Develop construction documents from marks, sketches, and redlines with increasing independence.
• Apply CAD drafting standards to ensure consistency across sheets and layers.
• Incorporate QA/QC procedures and agency checklists to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Review own work for accuracy and adherence to project requirements before submission.
• Assist engineers with preparation of technical documentation and deliverables.
• Coordinate and communicate with team members to support project objectives and schedules.
• Maintain organized project files for efficient collaboration.
