Description

For those selected candidates, you will have to take an AUTOCAD Test.

Responsibilities

1. Receiving roughly designed concepts from engineers and transforming them into CAD working documents.
2. Developing detailed construction drawings, topographical profiles, and related maps and specifications used in planning and constructing gas pipeline projects.
3. Plotting maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours.
4. Drafting detailed drawings of structures.
5. Accompanying survey crews in the field to collect field dimensions or data required for revision of construction drawings.
6. Calculating lay out rights-of-way and/or street dimensions and angles.
7. Constructing dimensional relationships of parts to each other and the entire project, using engineering practices and mathematics.
8. Creating preliminary and final sketches of proposed drawings using CAD software.
9. Extracting data from ground surveys and creating contour drawings for soil erosion and sediment control.
10. Designing concrete and steel supports related to supporting pipes in gas pipelines.
11. Modifying drawings as directed by engineers or design coordinators.
12. Creating as-built drawings upon project completion.
13. Performing miscellaneous job duties as necessary.

Qualifications

• An Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) in Design and Drafting Technology is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation software.
• Excellent communication skills.
