Hercules Custom Iron is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our Frederick, Maryland team. You will design, draft and refine 2D/3D drawings for ornamental and high-security fencing systems, coordinating with estimating, engineering, and fabrication teams.

You will read architectural and civil drawings, ensure compliance with codes, and produce shop drawings and templates for fabrication and installation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a CAD Technician.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software required.
• Experience with SolidWorks required.
• Strong technical drafting and detailing skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and civil construction drawings.
• Knowledge of fabrication methods, welding practices, and construction materials preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain electronic CAD drawings and fabrication files.
• Develop detailed shop drawings, design details, site layouts, and project submittals.
• Interpret and work from architectural, structural, and civil drawings and specifications.
• Produce accurate 2D and 3D models for fabrication and installation purposes.
• Develop and maintain a library of standard drawings and drafting templates.
• Collaborate closely with estimating, engineering, fabrication, and project management teams.
• Identify design conflicts and propose practical solutions.
• Ensure drawings meet company standards, client requirements, and industry codes.
• Support project execution from concept through fabrication and installation.

We specialize in commercial and high-security projects at some of the most prestigious and secure locations in the United States. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician to join our growing team in Frederick, Maryland.

As a CAD Technician, you will play a key role in the design, drafting, and execution of custom ornamental and high-security fencing systems. This position requires strong technical drafting abilities, collaboration across departments, and the ability to transform concepts into precise fabrication and construction drawings. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain electronic CAD drawings and fabrication files
