Jobot, a rapidly growing engineering firm in Indianapolis, is seeking a highly skilled CAD Technician to join our engineering team. This full-time role focuses on creating detailed designs and plans using CAD software, with preference for AutoCAD, MicroStation/Geopak, bridge design, and rebar detailing.

You will collaborate with engineers, check drawings for quality and safety, and support project meetings.

Qualifications

• A degree in drafting or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar engineering role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software.
• Experience in bridge design and rebar detailing.
• Excellent technical drawing skills with attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; teamwork and independence.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail bridge structures, including rebar detailing plans.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CAD Technician to join our dynamic engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of complex and challenging projects, where you will be responsible for creating detailed designs and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD with preference to those with Microstation/Geopak, bridge design, and rebar detailing experience. Responsibilities

1. Using CAD software, to produce detailed designs and technical drawings for engineering projects.
2. Collaborating with engineers and other professionals to understand project requirements and translate these into detailed technical plans.
3. Designing and detailing bridge structures, including the preparation of rebar detailing plans.
4. Checking and verifying design drawings to adhere to specifications and design data.
5. Participating in project meetings and providing technical support to the engineering team.
6. Ensuring all drawings and designs meet quality and safety standards.
7. Managing and coordinating with other CAD Technicians on the team to ensure project deadlines are met.
8. Continuously updating knowledge and staying current with new technologies and CAD software advancements.

Qualifications

1. A degree in drafting or a related field preferred.
2. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within the engineering industry.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software.
4. Proven experience in bridge design and rebar detailing.
5. Excellent technical drawing skills with great attention to detail.
6. Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methods.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. The ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
10. A proactive approach to learning and developing new skills.
