Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in the United States is seeking a CAD Tech Engineer to draft and detail computer aided drawings to support design engineering for new or modified products, including extrusion, assembly, bills of material and fabrication drawings.

You will produce 2D or 3D detailing, glazing designs, and related assembly instructions while collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering or technical school, or equivalent, with AutoCAD experience.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD (manual drafting principles, practices, methods a plus).
• Knowledge of metal fabrication and cutting, milling and fabrication equipment.
• Work independently and as part of a team when projects dictate.
• Strong written and spoken communication; ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Design Engineering in 2D or 3D by detailing new product designs or updating existing products.
• Detail extrusions, components, and hardware drawings.
• Detail fabrication and part process drawings; glazing designs and assembly instructions.
• Maintain effective relationships with manufacturing and inter-departmental customers.
• Learn design, production, and application engineering processes with manufacturing.
