Job summary

Hadrian in Los Angeles, CA seeks a CAD Modeler to build manufacturing-ready 3D models and 2D drawings for naval and aerospace parts. You’ll start from customer documents, model M-states, and own parts from initial model to release and changes.

Utilize NX (with CATIA/Creo/SolidWorks). Read GD&T per ASME Y14.5, document weld and NDT symbols per AWS A2.4, and manage drawings per ASME Y14.100. Collaborate with manufacturing to deliver tool-ready designs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production CAD models and drawings for hardware a factory made.
• Expert use of one parametric 3D CAD application (NX preferred; CATIA/Creo/SolidWorks also fit).
• Experience building 3D models from complex 2D drawings with internal features.
• Reads and drafts GD&T per ASME Y14.5, weld and NDT symbols per AWS A2.4, and drawings to ASME Y14.100.
• Experience releasing parts and controlling changes in a PLM system.
• Ask questions when drawings can't answer, not guess.
• Set release schedules across many parts and adjust priorities quickly.

Responsibilities

• Build manufacturing-ready 3D models from naval prints, aerospace drawings, partial models, and other customer documents.
• Create 2D drawings for factory use from models or customer data.
• Develop models and drawings for each M-state of a part.
• Resolve conflicting or unclear views across the drawing set.
• Keep PLM data correct and route parts through release workflows.
• Carry customer changes through geometry and M-state across part families.
• Create models usable by tooling, programming, and inspection teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to implement required model and drawing changes.
