Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago is seeking a CAD-GIS Designer to support engineering teams by developing drawings, 3D models, and geospatial workflows across thermal generation, transmission, and utility infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Routing & Siting, the role bridges CAD and GIS, establishes data governance, improves workflows, and collaborates with permitting, development, and project management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field.
Minimum 5 years in CAD design, GIS, or infrastructure development.
Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit or similar.
Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and Portal; GIS analyses.
Experience CAD-to-GIS integration and data management workflows.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organization; travel may be required.
Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain 2D drawings and 3D models for energy infrastructure projects.
Develop site layouts, equipment arrangements, P&IDs with engineering teams.
Interpret survey data to support layouts and feasibility studies.
Support projects from early development through construction.
