Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc is seeking a junior EDA software engineer to support design data management and automation for SoC projects. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of data flows, tooling, and scripts, while collaborating with a team focused on innovative hardware design solutions.

Qualifications

• Final-year student or recent graduate in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 0-3 years of professional experience.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Proficiency in Python or Perl.
• Experience with GNU/Linux commands and command-line operations.
• Familiarity with version control tools (Git, SVN, CVS).
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Exposure to machine learning or artificial intelligence is a plus.
• Willingness to adopt new development tools to improve collaboration and workflow.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve design data management software for SoC projects.
• Assist in implementing and enhancing design flows and methodologies.
• Create and deploy automation scripts to support electronic circuit design.
• Administer Design Data Management Systems such as DesignSync and ICManage.
• Research and leverage software tools and libraries to address tasks, preferably using Python.
• Debug and maintain existing software tools and systems.
• Prepare technical documentation.
• Train users on adopted solutions.
