Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a software-oriented candidate to begin a career in Electronic Design Automation (EDA). You will support Design Data Management and automation for SoC projects, contributing to the CAD group's software tools and workflows.

You will develop, deploy, and maintain automation scripts, help enhance design flows, and train users on adopting new solutions in a collaborative environment that values growth and learning.

Qualifications

  • Final-year student or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Proficiency in Python or Perl.
  • Experience with GNU/Linux commands and command-line operations.
  • Familiarity with version control tools (Git, SVN, CVS).
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Exposure to machine learning or artificial intelligence.
  • Willingness to adopt new development tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Description:

This position is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) for individuals with a strong software background and an interest in hardware design. The CAD group at Microchip supports technologies essential to the company's product development and delivers innovative solutions to the design community. The candidate will participate in various aspects of the development workflow. The primary focus of this role is to support Design Data Management and Design Automation for System-on-Chip (SoC) projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of Microchip’s design data management software.
  • Assist in the implementation and enhancement of design flows and methodologies.
  • Develop and deploy automation scripts to support electronic circuit design.
  • Administer Design Data Management Systems such as DesignSync and ICManage.
  • Research and utilize software tools and libraries to address various tasks, preferably using Python.
  • Debug and maintain existing software tools and systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation.
  • Train users on the adoption of developed solutions.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Final-year student or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
