Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a senior software and test engineer to develop, deploy, and maintain automated test software for low-volume, high-mix production environments.

You will work with C#, C, Python, SQL and related tools, interfacing with test equipment and collaborating with design and manufacturing teams. The role emphasizes database design, documentation, and adherence to scalable architectures, with strong emphasis on test coverage and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 7–8 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C, C#, Python, SQL, and related development tools.
• Working knowledge of electrical circuits, measurement fundamentals, and signal analysis.
• Experience controlling test instruments and industrial equipment through software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and test requirements.
• U.S. citizens with eligible EAR/ITAR access.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain automated test software for low-volume, high-mix production environments using C#, C, Python, SQL, and related tools.
• Develop and maintain database solutions adhering to established schemas and reporting outputs.
• Interface with production test equipment and support production needs with engineering teams.
• Maintain documentation for test software, database designs, procedures, and test system operation.
