Job summary

CMC is seeking a Nester/Drafter to create and maintain template drawings, optimize nesting layouts, and support plasma cutting operations in Denton, Texas. You will bridge engineering drawings, inventory, and manufacturing to keep production on track.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in drafting or CAD within a manufacturing setting, strong reading of blueprints, and proficiency with RADAN, AutoCAD, or similar software. This role offers hands-on training and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency with CAD software and blueprint reading.
• Experience in manufacturing/drafting preferred.
• Strong math and geometry skills.

Responsibilities

• Create template drawings and nesting layouts using RADAN.
• Interpret drawings and engineering docs to produce production-ready drawings.
• Review designs for manufacturability and potential issues before release.
• Generate burn sheets, machine files, and production documentation for plasma cutting.
• Maintain plate inventory logs and material consumption records.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Project Management, Scheduling, and Maintenance teams.
• Support continuous improvement to boost productivity and material utilization.
• Maintain records per Quality Management System.
