Job summary

Kloeckner is seeking a CAD Programmer to convert customer drawings into NC files for CNC equipment, using CAD and nesting software. You will interpret drawings and GD&T, coordinate with production teams, and ensure accurate file management and documentation.

The role emphasizes efficiency improvements and proper tooling and fixtures design. Requirements include 2+ years of CAD programming in manufacturing and a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

2+ years of practical CAD programming experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Two-year technical degree in Computer Programming, CAD, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Operate CAD/CNC software to create and manage drawings and NC files.
Interpret drawings and GD&T using FIRST/third-angle projections to create engineering drawings.
Coordinate with customers, sales and production teams for smooth information flow.
Import CAD files into nesting software to generate NC files for CNC equipment and select appropriate processes.
Nest parts to optimize material usage and production efficiency.
Program CNC equipment and document revisions as required.
Assist with tooling and fixture design and maintain understanding of the equipment used.
Suggest efficiency improvements and conduct cost-benefit analyses of tooling and applications.
Maintain inventory of tooling and cutting parameters and keep program files organized.
