Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Drafter to prepare system installation drawings from engineered documentation for construction or permit. You will work with a dynamic team and contribute to Convergint's culture while growing professionally.

Requirements include strong AutoCAD skills, the ability to read architectural/electrical layouts, and a minimum of 1 year CAD experience. The role is based in Renton, WA with comprehensive benefits and competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge and expertise in AutoCAD with layers, xrefs, dimensions, blocks.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and electrical layouts and diagrams.
• Minimum 1 year CAD experience; High School/GED or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare system as-built drawings from onsite drawing mark-ups.
• Assemble drawing package sets and data sheets for submittal or permit; work on drawing package sets with varying complexity.
• Support project teams to ensure accurate, timely construction drawings and documentation.

• Prepare system as-built drawings from onsite drawing mark-ups.
• Assemble drawing package sets and data sheets for submittal or permit; works on drawing package sets and data sheets with complexity levels varying from routine to, at times, more complex.

What You’ll Need

• Good knowledge/expertise in AutoCAD; including commands such as layers, xrefs, dimensioning and blocks.
• Strong skills in reading and understanding architectural and electrical layouts and diagrams.
• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
• Basic understanding of low voltage systems, instrumentation & testing, or P&ID preferred.
• Basic understanding of Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion, Intercom, Building Automation, or Mass Notification preferred.

Requirements

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 1 year CAD or related undergraduate

The expected compensation range for this position is between $23.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.
