Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Drafter to join our dynamic team. You will produce system installation drawings including floor plans, riser diagrams and details using AutoCAD for Fire, Security, Building Automation, and Healthcare projects.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of drafting experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and knowledge of electrical layouts. Convergint offers a collaborative culture with growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of AutoCAD 2012 and general commands (layers, xrefs, dimensioning, 3D).
• Solid skills reading architectural and electrical layouts/diagrams.
• Solid knowledge of electrical/electronic theory and components.
• Experience with fire alarm, security, or building automation systems.
• MS Office familiarity (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting support to produce system installation drawings including floor plans, riser diagrams and details using AutoCAD for Fire, Security, Building Automation and Healthcare projects.
• Work on larger projects with greater complexity as needed.
• Delivers assigned projects effectively within budgeted cost and time schedules.
• Mentor less-experienced staff when needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Provide drafting support to produce system installation drawings including floor plans, riser diagrams and details using AutoCAD for our Fire, Security, Building Automation and/or Healthcare Services projects which are typically small to large projects that vary in complexity.
• Work on larger projects with greater complexity as needed and able.
• Delivers assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules.
• May mentor less-experience staff.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Good knowledge/expertise in AutoCAD 2012.
• Good knowledge in general AutoCAD commands such as layers, xrefs, dimensioning and 3D skills.
• Solid skills in reading and understanding architectural and electrical layouts and diagrams.
• Solid knowledge of electrical/electronic theory and components.
• Solid technical skills and experience related to fire alarm systems, security systems, and/or building automation systems.
• Good computer skills including exposure to MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Requirements

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience: 2-4 years drafting
Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• Experience of 1 or more of the following industries: fire alarm & life safety, security, and/or building automation.

The anticipated compensation for this role is $21.63 - $25.96 per hour.
