Job summary

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Design Engineer to develop CAD models and tooling layouts for manufacturing, while ensuring manufacturability and compliance with Subsafe, AS9100, and Mil-std standards. You will work with manufacturing engineers, suppliers, and production teams in Costa Mesa, CA to optimize production systems.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical systems, strong GD&T, and experience with 3D CAD tools and PLM such as Teamcenter. U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with detailed mechanical systems from cradle to grave.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (NX/SW/CATIA).
• Strong GD&T application in production drawings.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Ability to manage large assemblies and 2D drawings.
• Experience with Teamcenter BOMs and PLM data integrity.
• U.S. person eligible for export-controlled information and security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models with GD&T, PMI, material specs, finishes, and part info.
• Apply PMI/MBD to 3D models for downstream manufacturing and inspection.
• Create production drawings with GD&T and perform tolerance analysis.
• Manage EBOMs and align MBOMs.
• Configure Teamcenter/CAD BOMs and ensure PLM data integrity.
• Perform PMI validation and model checking per industry standards.
• Collaborate with vendors and fabrication teams to implement producibility learnings.
• Produce assembly models/drawings and manufacturing build-to packages.
• Conduct drawing package reviews and incorporate design feedback.
• Support configuration management at system or subsystem level.
• Work hands-on in manufacturing environments with operations teams.
• Design composite structures, machined components, mechanisms, fluids, and electromechanical assemblies.
