Job summary

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Tooling Engineer to design, validate, and implement tooling and fixtures for manufacturing complex aircraft structures. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to enable new product introduction and production scaling while staying closely connected to the production floor.

Role requires 5+ years in production assembly/fabrication, CAD proficiency, and a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in production assembly/fabrication for air vehicles (manned or unmanned).
• Proficiency in CAD design for mechanical parts and understanding of machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, and casting.
• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related Engineering discipline, or equivalent applicable experience.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
• Experience distinguishing critical design differences between prototype and production tooling.
• Experience with tooling requirements for composite manufacturing: lamination, curing, trimming, assembly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist air vehicle development teams to ensure manufacturability and validate processes/technology.
• Provide real-time manufacturing floor support, resolving tooling issues and improving production processes.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up and GD&T analysis of assemblies and fixturing for fit and repeatability.
• Own and execute tool designs using CAD software.
• Communicate tool access and machine access requirements.
• Select optimal methods for producing parts, tools, or assemblies.
• Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement corrective actions.
