Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Designer in Johnson City, TN to design cutting tools and ensure conformance to ANSI/NAS and customer specifications. You will use AutoCAD for drawings, maintain SAP layouts, and collaborate with production and quality teams to deliver high-quality products at optimal costs.

The role involves reviewing customer specs, selecting components, initiating purchase orders, and supporting field teams with technical questions.

Qualifications

• AS in Drafting/Design/CAD or 2 years of mechanical design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design cutting tools meeting engineering standards, codes, and customer specs within cost constraints.
• Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements.
• Ensure conformance to ANSI, NAS and company standards for quality and manufacturability.
• Maintain design layouts in SAP.
• Provide process drawings and profile information.
• Redesign standard and special products to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Evaluate and select components and parts for products.
• Initiate purchase orders.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve processes and costs.
• Assist field support with technical questions from customers and sales.
