Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Designer in Knoxville, TN to create and refine product and pipe support plans. You will design components for new or existing products and ensure drawings and BOMs are accurate while minimizing rework in manufacturing.

You will collaborate with estimating, manufacturing, OL, production and customers to ensure quality designs within budget. Proficiency in MicroStation, NAVISWORKS, and AutoCAD is required, with 2+ years in 3D modeling and an AS in industrial design

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in 3D modeling.
• AS in industrial design preferred.
• Certification or diploma in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, or revise product or pipe support plans and specifications.
• Design components for new or existing products or applications.
• Ensure accuracy of drawings and bills of materials generated by CADD/Designers; minimize or eliminate rework in manufacturing.
• Work in a team environment to ensure accuracy and provide quality work.
• Participate in meetings and work closely with estimating, manufacturing, OL, production and customer personnel to ensure quality design of new or redesigned products.
• Ensure that design ideas are sound and in keeping with budgetary constraints.
• Maintain working knowledge of the industry and apply industry specific codes and standards with the specifications of the designs that have been assigned.
• Ability to work within specific MicroStation and NAVISWORKS environments and Auto CAD.
• Ensure that electronic files of design documentation and other engineering data are securely maintained.
• Verify drawings and documents are in accordance with engineering standards before release to manufacturing.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
