Job summary

Mac-Medical-3 in Illinois is seeking a CAD Designer to create, modify, and maintain detailed shop drawings for commercial laminated products, casework, countertops, and related projects. You will work closely with sales, estimating, project management, and production teams to ensure designs reflect project requirements and manufacturing capabilities.

Strong CAD skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to read architectural drawings are essential.

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certificate in Drafting/CAD or related field.
2–5 years CAD drafting/casework/millwork experience.
Experience with commercial construction documents and architectural specs.
Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent).
Reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specs.
Familiarity with manufacturing environments and shop drawing standards.

Responsibilities

Create shop, production, and assembly drawings for commercial laminated products and casework.
Interpret drawings, specs, and design documents to produce accurate manufacturing drawings.
Prepare layouts, elevations, sections, and detail drawings for fabrication and installation.
Collaborate with sales, estimating, project management, and production teams.
Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and manufacturability; update as needed.
Coordinate material specs, BOMs, and construction details in project drawings.
Maintain drawing standards, file organization, and revision control.
Assist with project handoff meetings and provide technical support to production.
