Position Summary
A leading family-owned luxury jeweler is seeking a talented CAD Designer to join their dynamic and fast-paced custom design department. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled and creatively driven CAD professional who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of jewelry manufacturing processes, enjoy working on custom one-of-a-kind designs, and be able to translate creative concepts into detailed, production-ready CAD models.
Key Responsibilities
- Create CAD models for custom jewelry designs, including rings, bracelets, earrings, and pendants.
- Produce detailed renderings using MatrixGold, or other comparable jewelry CAD software.
- Prepare CAD files for 3D wax printing and communicate effectively with the in-house production team.
- Ensure designs meet technical and structural manufacturing requirements.
- Collaborate closely with sales associates and the in-house jeweler to bring customer visions to life.
- Adapt designs based on stone size, design modifications, or client feedback while ensuring structural integrity.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary designs; no external showcasing or sharing permitted.
- Deliver high-quality designs efficiently.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong proficiency in MatrixGold or comparable CAD design programs.
- Ability to create technically sound designs suitable for fabrication and setting.
- Understanding of stone setting, jewelry construction, and finishing techniques.
- Clear, professional communication skills; ability to interface with sales staff and management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptable, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple custom projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to in-house processes and tools.
- Professional demeanor; ability to work full-time on-site.
Education & Experience
- Hands-on CAD jewelry design experience preferred; no strict minimum years required skillset and understanding are prioritized.
- Experience preparing CAD files for 3D printing highly preferred (training available if needed).
- Background in a custom jewelry setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ZBrush or similar programs is a plus but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $28.85 – 31.25/hour (commensurate with experience and skillset).

Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, on-site position (remote or hybrid work not available).
- Regular Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday (Saturday as needed); Sundays and Mondays off
- Showroom Hours:
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Thursday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Team members may arrive earlier, between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM, to pick up extra hours and work toward a full-time schedule. Saturday hours may also be available based on business needs.
