Job summary

CTDOT, located at its Newington, CT Headquarters, seeks Transportation Engineer 3 (Engineering) to support the Digital Delivery Technology Unit. You will develop complex 2D and 3D highway and bridge models using Bentley tools for design, construction, and asset management purposes, advancing BIM throughout the agency.

You will collaborate with BIM leaders nationally, stay at the forefront of digital delivery, data management, and model-based documentation, and help train CTDOT staff and internal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and three (3) years of experience in transportation engineering.
• One (1) year of the General Experience must have been at the working level in a professional transportation engineering capacity (PE/EIT licensure may substitute for degree).
• PE or EIT licensure may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.

Responsibilities

• Support development of projects and initiatives to enhance safety, capacity, and efficiency of CT’s transportation system.
• Provide design/engineering support to develop 2D and 3D models for highway and bridge projects during design and construction.
• Support BIM implementation, data management, and model governance across the agency.
• Collaborate with BIM leaders nationwide to reshape CTDOT project delivery and training of staff.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering
