Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Civil Surveying Technician - CAD/3D Modeling to join our Mountain Office. You will build precise 3D machine control and site layout models using Trimble Siteworks/Earthworks, perform earthwork takeoffs, and support field crews with design data.

The role offers autonomy over multiple scopes, CAD drafting standards across projects, and training including FAA Part 107 licensing if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with Trimble Business Center and civil software (Siteworks/Earthworks).
• Able to read grading plans, road alignments, and site details from engineering plans.
• FAA Part 107 license or ability to obtain within a year.
• Field surveying experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build precise 3D machine control and site layout models for Trimble civil software.
• Perform earthwork takeoffs and support field crews with design data.
• Own CAD and drafting standards across projects to maintain consistency.
• Oversee multiple scopes and guide the 3D modeling process end-to-end.
