Job summary

Penquis in Bangor, Maine seeks a dedicated CACFP Specialist to coordinate the Child and Adult Care Food Program operations from our Bangor location. This full-time, hybrid role focuses on meal planning, regulatory compliance, and nutrition education for providers.

You will train home providers, manage CACFP contracts, and maintain essential documentation while working a 40-hour week in a hybrid setup. Penquis supports growth, training, and wellness benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in social services, health, or business field.
• 1-2 years paid work experience in related area.

Responsibilities

• Ensure CACFP health and nutrition requirements meet state licensing standards for meal services.
• Manage contracts between CACFP and Penquis, and between Penquis and Home Day Care Providers.
• Identify and contract with Home Providers and train them in meal service and nutrition.
• Provide CACFP annual training sessions on program operations and nutrition.
• Maintain required documents (production reports, menus, meal counts, attendance, demographics, USDA reimbursements, licenses).
• Develop and prepare quarterly provider newsletter.
• Conduct three monitoring visits per year per provider.
