Job summary

Obsolete Site is seeking a kitchen assistant to support the CACFP-compliant food service program. You will prepare and cook a range of foods, follow standard recipes, and collaborate with nutrition specialists on menus and orders.

The role involves assisting with on-the-job training for kitchen staff and adherence to risk management procedures, with potential travel to on- and off-post locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of work experience directly related to the duties described above, including skill with professional kitchen appliances and equipment.
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in English.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs on a routine basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing a CACFP-compliant food service program.
• Perform varied food preparation and cooking tasks following standard recipes.
• Prepare and cook meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, stews, casseroles, gravies, sauces, and baked goods.
