Job summary

Obsolete Site seeks a CYS Food and Nutrition Specialist to oversee the food program in Child Development Centers, Family Child Care Homes, School‑Age Programs, and middle school/teen programs at Level 3 and above.

You will act as SME for nutrition from birth to 18 years, conduct observations to meet USDA enrollment and Army requirements, recruit staff, and design healthy 4–6 week seasonal menus aligned with CACFP and Army policies. Travel to on- and off-post locations is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in dietetics, food nutrition, food service management, institutional management, or related science.
• At least 12 months work experience directly related to food operation, preferably with children and youth.
• Demonstrated program administration experience.
• Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems, gather pertinent data, and identify solutions.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and operate the food program in CYS facilities and programs at Level 3 and above.
• Act as SME in nutritional needs of children from birth to 18 years.
• Conduct observations/inspections to meet USDA enrollment and Army requirements.
• Recruit and hire qualified Food Service Operation personnel.
• Prepare healthy, balanced 4–6 week seasonal menus for programs aligning with CACFP and Army policies.
