Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Cable Test Technician on the 2nd shift to build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies per engineering drawings and work instructions. You will test for continuity, shorts, and insertion loss while coordinating with design and manufacturing engineers.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with 1–3 years of relevant experience, familiarity with test equipment (DMMs, cable-eye testers), and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience using tools for cable assembly and testing.
• Testing cables for continuity, shorts, insulation resistance, and insertion loss.
• Ability to read engineer drawings and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies.
• Use tools for cable manufacturing (strippers, crimpers, solder iron).
• Interpret drawings, electrical schematics, and specs.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to anticipate issues.
• Perform basic troubleshooting to locate signal/connectivity faults.
