Role Overview

Leidos Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility seeks a Cable Assembly Technician. The technician will support various programs, building cables in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions, performing cable construction, basic testing, troubleshooting, and repair.

Primary Responsibilities

• Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies.
• Use cable manufacturing tools (strippers, crimpers, solder iron).
• Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop strategies and identify potential issues during assembly.
• Perform basic troubleshooting to uncover faults in signal and connectivity issues.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 1 to 3 years (or more) of cable building and/or electrical/mechanical assembly experience.
• Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during cable assembly.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) Final Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• This posting is for multiple opportunities ranging in years of experience; compensation will be matched to a candidate’s experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or prior certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 with Space addendum.
• Current or prior certification in J-STD-001.
• Ability to test cable assemblies for continuity, isolation, insulation resistance, and insertion loss.

Sign-on Bonus

Candidates selected for 2nd shift will receive a $2000.00 sign-on bonus.

Pay Range

$40,300.00 – $72,850.00
