Job summary

TEKsystems is hiring for a contract Cable Technician in Montgomery, AL. The role focuses on installing and maintaining structured cabling, including Cat6, fiber, racks, patch panels, and grounding. It involves building closets and managing both in-building and outdoor data center work.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with IDC terminations and conduit/wire pulling, using common hand tools. This onsite position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits where eligible.

• Low voltage experience

• Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices
• Will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware).
• Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
• Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
• Looking for individuals that can work inside and outside building out the data centers.
• Pulls wire and/or oversees and directs conduit installations and wire pulling.
• Operates tools/equipment, normally requiring the use of two hands (examples: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.).

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
