Responsibilities

1. Work independently on routine assignments such as maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing problems in single-layer printed circuit cards and other equipment of limited design and complexity.
2. Assemble cables, replace defective components, modules, and assemblies.
3. Operate programmed automatic test equipment to locate defective components.
4. Follow schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to construct electronic equipment.
5. May work as part of a team on depot and TDY locations.
6. Work requires normal color perception, coordination, and body movements like sitting, kneeling, bending, climbing, standing, crawling, stooping, and lifting.
7. Work may involve cramped positions inside and outside vans, shelters, and on work-stands.
8. Subject to hazards such as electrical shock, burns, cuts, fumes, oils, noise, and R.F. radiation, including high voltage work.

Qualifications

1. Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
2. Pass a pre-employment drug test.
3. Ability to work First, Second, and Third Shift.
4. Pass a pre-employment Cable Test Evaluation.
5. Basic knowledge of Electronics Theory and applications.
6. Cable Fabrication training and testing are mandatory.
7. Ability to solder and interpret drawings and blueprints, and repair electronic components.
8. Experience in fabricating and overhauling cable assemblies.
9. Use of hand tools such as wire cutters, strippers, crimpers, and heat guns.
10. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
11. Ability to perform soldering per industry standards such as IPC 7711/7721.
12. May need to wear protective equipment like safety glasses and earplugs.

Physical Demands

1. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions.
2. Must lift objects up to 40 pounds and stand, sit, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods.
