Job summary

Leidos is hiring a Cable Assembly Technician at their Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility. The role involves building, troubleshooting, and repairing cable assemblies for various customers, including the Department of Defense.

Job description

Position

Cable Assembly Technician – Leidos Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility.

Location: Leidos Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility. This role involves building, troubleshooting, and repairing cable assemblies for both commercial and Department of Defense customers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies.
  • Use cable manufacturing tools such as strippers, crimpers, and solder irons.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop assembly strategies and identify potential problems.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting to identify faults in signal and connectivity issues.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED with 1 to 3 years (or more) of experience in cable building and/or electrical/mechanical assembly.
  • Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during the cable assembly process.
  • U.S. Citizen with a current Final Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • This posting is for multiple opportunities ranging in years of experience; level of opportunity, including compensation, will be matched to a candidate's experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or prior certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 with Space addendum.
  • Current or prior certification in J-STD-001.
  • Ability to test cable assemblies for continuity, isolation, insulation resistance, and insertion loss.
Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $40,300.00 – $72,850.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline; final compensation may vary based on responsibilities, experience, and other factors.

Note: Candidates selected for the 2nd shift will receive a $2,000.00 sign‑on bonus.
