Job summary

Black Mountain Cabinetry LLC is seeking a cabinet designer to assist with growing client needs, visiting job sites, and developing cabinetry designs with clients, architects, or builders.

The ideal candidate has a degree or commensurate experience in design, is comfortable working independently and on a team, proficient with 2020 Design and CAD, strong communication, and a drive to grow with the company. Base Salary + Commission; in-office and field work; Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.

Qualifications

• Have a degree/certificate and/or commensurate experience in design or a related field (architecture, etc.).
• Be able to work both independently and on a team towards shared goals.

• Be proficient with 2020 (required) and CAD (preferred but not necessary).
• Have experience designing custom cabinetry, sizing custom panels/built in appliances, and reading/interpreting appliance specifications as they relate to cabinet design.
• Have the ability to conceptualize and suggest cabinetry finishes, materials, and styles while working within budgetary, timeline, or other limitations.
• Have a high degree of organization, communication and time management as it relates to competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Have strong written communication and interpersonal communication skills.
• Have familiarity with construction and working with contractors and other trades.
• Have a legal driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
• Be willing to undergo a background check
• Provide proof of work authorization

Responsibilities

• Visit job sites, obtain accurate measurements, and work directly with the client, architect, interior designer, or builder to develop cabinetry designs.
• Present cabinetry designs to customers, accept feedback, and tailor the design to the client’s needs.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, builders, etc. to coordinate cabinet delivery and installation.
• Communicate installation plan with installers to ensure designs are followed.
• Take a project from start to finish while being precise, communicative, responsive, and ensuring the final product is delivered according to our standards.
